Quantum of the Solace
I enjoyed watching it but thought it was missing some of the magic from Casino Royale
It could have been better 8/10

I watched Casino Royale again the other day. Still enjoyable even when you know what;s coming next.
Borstal Boy.
7/10.
Would have been much better had Danny Dyer not been snogging men most of the way through it - nothing against gays, has just ruined my "moments".
I went to bed last night and watched an old fav of mines, 'The Paper'
Fucking class movie, 9/10. Michael Keaton, Robert Duval, Glenn Close, Randy Quade, Marisa Tomei with Ron Howard directing.

Everyone I know in the construction industry have no work on either. Times are hard.
My uncle's just laid off half of his workforce. Tough times indeed.
On topic: Watched The Fountain again the other night; while not as immediately arresting as Pi or Requiem, it is a real grower (z0mgpun) and just as emotive without being quite as...visceral.

Have you seen Pi and Requiem for a Dream? IMO they are FAR better than the Fountain which was plagued by Hollywood interference. The Fountain is good but doesn't have the rawness of his first 2 films, you can tell he wanted to do so much more with it and it ended up a little disjointed for my liking.
Budget constraints tarnished what could have been a masterpiece, which is funny in itself as Pi had a minuscule budget of only $60,000. Where as The Fountain was originally given a budget of $70m, but due to difficulties in the end received a paltry $35m.![]()

Last King of Scotland - Very good.
I watched the Last Samurai over the weekend and was pleasantly surprised as I was expecting a typical Tom Cruise film.

Last Samurai is actually pretty good, I was surprised as well.
Cruise may be a nutter, but he's not a bad actor; that aside he's not a great one either. The fighting is good ranging from ninja attacks, general sword fighting and the huge battles are pretty good as well.

Burn After Reading
Much like other Coen Brother films i've seen, good whilst it's going but then it just stops, no real conclusion to the story or anything, just the end of the film with the entire plot tied up by one conversation explaining what should have been another 30 minutes of film.
6/10
